STOCKHOLM - Trustly, the online payment company that offer solutions for online banking payments, has been selected by The FinTech2015 as one of the 50 companies in Europe transforming the future of financial services.
The 50 FinTech companies on this list have been selected from over 750 European companies by a panel of experts, including leaders from Google, Microsoft, Fiserv, American Express and tier-one VC investors active in the sector looked at FinTechs in four key verticals: Banking & Financial, Big Data & Analytics, Payments and Platforms.
During the ceremony held in London’s “Cheesegrater” building, Trustly was selected under the Payments category due to its innovative solutions in B2B2C payments that outstand for being secure and easy to use, compatible with all kinds of mobile devices and offering cross-border payments, which makes the platform particularly suitable for international e-commerce.
FinTech50 founders Julie Lake and Nicky Cotter said:
- This year we saw more potential game-changers than ever before, but are also witnessing the birth of the billion-dollar FinTechs and it is these twin characteristics distinguish this year’s 50 from previous ones. In a nutshell, it’s a tale of new and ingenious technologies (of course), but also of maturity and scale – in a truly global sense.
- To be considered among the top 50 companies in Europe transforming financial services shows once again how our state-of-the-art technology is transforming online payments in Europe, says Trustly’s Stefan Backlund.
- It also show that the Fintech sector believes in our ability to challenge the market with our vision that the bank account is the heart of all financial transactions. Trustly makes it more user friendly and safe to use the bank account for cross-border e-commerce trade on mobile units, says Stefan Backlund.
This recognition comes after winning the CIT Golden Card award – the most important award for innovative payment methods in Spain, plus an investment for a minority stake close to 23 million Euros by Bridgepoint Development Capital to ensure the continuous growth of Trustly in Europe.
