STOCKHOLM, August 9, 2017 – Trustly, the European payments company, is pleased to announce its partnership with leading Nordic e-commerce-focused payments provider Qliro. Qliro powers payments for several of the Nordic region’s largest and most well-known online retailers including CDON.com, Nelly.com and Gymgrossisten. The partnership, initiated after a successful trial period in the first part of 2017, will make Trustly a permanent online banking option for Qliro’s express checkout service, Qliro One.
In 2016, Qliro launched Qliro One, an online checkout service providing retailers with a user-friendly, front end adjustable and cost-efficient alternative to existing solutions. With Trustly integrated as a payment option in Qliro One, retailers can now let their customers pay directly from their bank account.
“We want to empower online consumers and let them make payments in their preferred way. Therefore, it’s massively important for both consumers and merchants that we offer a wide range of payment options, including great direct banking options. Consequently, we are very pleased to initiate a partnership with Trustly, which has superb bank coverage not only in the Nordics but also across Europe,” said Patrik Illerstig, CEO at Qliro.
“We are delighted to partner with Qliro and for Trustly to become the online banking payment method in the checkout of some of the Nordic region’s most well-known e-com franchises. Today many shoppers abandon their carts because their preferred payment method is not available. Trustly allows millions of European customers to pay in their preferred way and as such drives conversion for merchants,” said Oscar Berglund, CEO at Trustly.
